The equipment of a building

Availability

This page concerns organisations equipped with Graphlake.

What it is for

The Equipment tab lists everything installed in a building: what it is, where it is, what condition it is in and when it was last renewed.

It is the reference view for knowing what a building contains, and in what state.

The screen explained

Equipment is grouped by trade: building envelope, architectural trades, technical trades, outdoor, and other.

Each trade holds sub-categories, for instance Plumbing and gas, Heating and ventilation, or Low-voltage electrics. The number of items is shown in brackets next to each one.

Unfold a sub-category to see its equipment. Each line carries:

Step by step

See the detail of an item

A single item often exists in several places. The chevron on the left of the line unfolds it, location by location, each occurrence with its own path and its own condition.

Filter the list

Three filters sit at the top of the page and can be combined:

  • Location, by text search,
  • Renewal date, by period,
  • Condition: good, average, poor, dangerous, undefined.

Add an item

The "Add equipment" button asks for the type of equipment, the general condition, the last renewal date and an optional comment.

Edit, duplicate, move or delete

The actions menu at the end of a line offers four operations on the item, on a single occurrence or on the whole group.

Good to know

  • The tab used to be called "Components & equipment". It was renamed to keep the interface simple, but its content has not changed.
  • Condition and last renewal date feed your work plans. Keeping them up to date directly improves the quality of your projections.
  • Long lists are paginated. The page size selector sits at the bottom of each sub-category.
